The Week in Review
March 17-21, 2013
We’re headed full swing into Spring, gearing up for our Park Study (hope you can come!) finishing up our new words and getting ready to spend the rest of the school year in review. Whew! We’ve done a lot this year!
Here’s what’s news with us this week:
What we’ve learned about how Mo Willems illustrates and writes his stories, we are now also using in our own stories and weekend news writing too! We’ve explored thinking and speech bubbles, movement and direction lines and more.
We’ve brought our math sentences and stories to life and are acting them out in class. We pretend to be objects in the game of adding and subtracting and it’s been great fun!
Thank you Vivian’s Dad Christian and Freddie’s Mom Cecilia for coming this week and reading us such great books! So fun!
We have a new reading trick we’re using. Guessing the word when we’re stumped. We read a sentence and try to guess what kind of word would make sense. It’s a great way to get our imagination moving and helps us solve our own reading challenges.
Check out our Words of the Week post - “play”, “have”, “went”, and “love” this week. Hang them on your at home word walls for extra practice and look for them in bedtime stories too!
See you next time!
